1 pound ground beef (or turkey): For a hearty protein base.

1 cup uncooked rice: To absorb the flavors and add substance.

1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes (with juices): For a rich, tangy sauce.

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce: To enhance the tomato flavor.

1 onion (chopped): For added depth and sweetness.

3 cloves garlic (minced): To infuse the dish with aromatic flavor.

1 teaspoon dried oregano: For a hint of Mediterranean flavor.

1 teaspoon paprika: To add warmth and depth.

Salt and pepper: To taste.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cabbage

Remove the core from the cabbage and chop it into bite-sized pieces.

Step 2: Brown the Meat

In a skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound of ground beef (or turkey) until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set aside.

Step 3: Combine the Ingredients

In the slow cooker, combine the chopped cabbage, browned meat, 1 cup of uncooked rice, 1 can of diced tomatoes (with juices), 1 can of tomato sauce, 1 chopped onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, and 1 teaspoon of paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Slow Cook

Stir the mixture well to combine all the ingredients evenly.

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the cabbage is tender and the rice is fully cooked.

Step 5: Serve

Once cooked, stir the mixture gently, then serve hot. Enjoy the comforting flavors of this unstuffed cabbage roll dish!
